Financial Advice for the Working Class
This recession hit the middle-class hard. The housing bubble left them underwater in their mortgage. They lost their good paying jobs in corporate and government layoffs, and stock market volatility decimated their 401K retirement funds. The ones that still have jobs, spend 50-60hrs every week on a tedious treadmill to hell. Who wants to live like that? Yeah, the middle-class is pretty well screwed.
Frankly, no one deserves it more. Did the middle-class care as they watched the working-class become the working poor and the homeless? No, they cheered. The middle-class like having poor people around, they just don’t want to see them out of uniform or off the job. The middle-class want the working poor to make cheap tennis shoes in another country, pick, prepare and serve their food, and clean the toilets at night.
The middle-class like to think that they’re smarter than the working-class. They’d like to believe that because of their particularly powerful brains, we should be happy to clean their toilets because they use those powerful brains to make the world a better place, after all, they went to college. Quite the contrary, they’ve demonstrated obedience and shown a willingness to do what they are told no matter how pointless. That is the kind of behavior the rich reward, but free people despise. The middle-class never learned to think for themselves. Instead they learned to say what people want to hear, and to compete with each other for praise and rewards.
The middle-class forgot its labor-union roots. They forgot that unions brought about the great expansion of the middle-class and somehow thought they each could become “rich-lite” just by sucking-up harder than anyone else. They liked the housing bubble when it meant they could use their house like an ATM machine. They didn’t care so much about the growing income gap when their 401K kept going up. They enjoyed exploiting the poor even more than the rich enjoyed exploiting them.
The rich are bred for evil. It’s in their DNA. The middle-class learned evil from the rich. I don’t know why the middle-class find the rich so fascinating, and emulate them so. Clearly this hasn’t made them rich themselves. Don’t they know that the only thing more disgusting than true evil, is a cheap imitation of evil? Now that the rich ass they kiss, just shit all over them, all that’s left of the middle-class is a pitiful excuse for a cheap imitation of evil. Can you imagine anything more wretched?
Really, give it a try. These people learned to ignore and step over the homeless, on their way to their overpriced suburban homes, felt entitled to an enormous and unsustainable environmental footprint, and expected us to work like dogs for them for almost nothing. Now, they want us to feel sorry for them because the rich just fucked them over and hung them out to dry, just like they did the working-class 25yrs ago.
They’re not used to working for $8-12 an hour with no benefits. They’ve never had to decide between spending every dime they earn on the cheapest available housing, so they have some place to sleep, or living in their car, so they have a way to get to work. Nor have they had to figure out what to do when they can’t even find an $8 an hour job, and there’s no affordable housing anywhere. Welcome back to the working-class, traitors. Do you want fries with that?
